And Back to Work :: Rowchester Music Festival

Although, of course, going to watch live music in the fabulous countryside of the Scottish Borders isn't really that hard....We went along to get some live shots of Lost in Audio and IdiotCut both of whom were playing at the festival this year. And of course, who were both simply brilliant. For those of you who don't know, the Rowchester Music Festival is probably one of the most esoteric, entertaining and eccentric festivals around. Hosted by Leonard Harper-Gow on his front lawn it's both idyllic, glorious and well, unexpected. Where else would you hear howling funk/grunge followed by 16th Century Madrigals? And they serve Pimms at the bar.

We also loved 'The Warehouse Announcement' who blew the roof off and finally revealed who the Google Horse-Boy really is!!

The Rowchester Music Festival 2010

The Rowchester Music Festival is on the 17th and 18th of July. It's our local festival and features lots of great bands and activities in a wonderful setting. Two bands that we've been working with - Lost in Audio and Idiotcut are playing on the Saturday and Sunday respectively and they will both put on a great show.

Rowchester is just outside Greenlaw in Berwickshire - it's about an hours drive from Edinburgh and the nearest railway station is Berwick-upon-Tweed. It's going to be a fabulous weekend so make sure you come along. The festival is supporting the Teenage Cancer Trust this year so it's all in a very good and worthwhile cause.

jawdrop :: Portaits for ladies - Charlotte

The weather is great in The Borders at the moment so we're taking advantage of the amazing skies to get some eye-catching photographs. Charlotte, one of our close neighbours came round for a shoot and a glass of wine last week and soon got into the flow of a jawdrop photo-shoot. Charlotte also treads the boards with the Duns Players so we injected a little bit of theatre into these shots. I also sat on a thistle, which adds nothing to this blog entry but just shows the extremes we go to....

Here's Charlotte ::

Photography & Design :: Kerdova Print

As you know we are called 80eight Photography & Design....So where does the design come into it? Well, for a start all our images are designed to be innovative and of the highest quality, but we also do print and logo design. With that in mind here's a recent shoot we did with Zuzana Gibb of Kerdova Print for her latest brochure.

Kerdova Print produce and design fabulous hand-printed silk screened wallpaper. It's a really amazing product - check it out here ::

Suspire // OneCreativeScotland

Suspire, the band we saw and were very impressed with at Rockness last weekend are an interesting bunch. In addition to being great musicians they also started OneCreativeScotland which is a loose network of cool and edgy musical and visual artists. I don't know much about them really but we're going to check their next event out in July. Meanwhile, you can check them out here :

A Recently Completed Video

Here's a video we recently completed - all edited, composed, shot and in some cases featuring 80eight. I think the content speaks for itself. I'm very proud of it.
